Get Back Up

There will come a million moments in your life when you will stumble, you will fall down, you will get hurt , but there is one thing that you can do and you will become invincible and that is “getting back up”.

A person who chose not to accept the defeat and comes back stronger every time he is down is literally invincible. You cannot defeat a man who falls and gets back up every time.

You’ve all heard of Robert Downey Jr. aka IRON MAN. More than 20 years ago, he was charged for drugs and violence and was sent to jail. Everyone thought his career had finished but he came back. He came back and became one of the most popular actor in the world and gave us the most loved character ever.

Robert Downey Jr said “Just because you hit the bottom doesn’t mean you have to stay there”.

And that is the thing, if you fall down, get back up, i know it’s difficult, i know it hurts but you have to do it. It is the only way to take out the ultimate failure out of the equation and when you don’t have any fear of failure, nothing can stop you from achieving the highest success.

Think about it.

The life on the Mississippi

Life on the Mississippi (1883) is a memoir by Mark Twain of his days as a steamboat pilot on the Mississippi River before the American Civil War. It is also a travel book, recounting his trip up the Mississippi River from New Orleans to Saint Paul many years after the war.

The book begins with a brief history of the river as reported by Europeans and Americans, beginning with the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto in 1542.[2] It continues with anecdotes of Twain’s training as a steamboat pilot, as the ‘cub’ (apprentice) of an experienced pilot, Horace E. Bixby. He describes, with great affection, the science of navigating the ever-changing Mississippi River in a section that was first published in 1876, entitled “Old Times on the Mississippi”. Although Twain was actually 21 when he began his training, he uses artistic license to make himself seem somewhat younger, referring to himself as a “fledgling” and a “boy” who “ran away from home” to seek his fortune on the river, and playing up his own callowness and naΓ―vetΓ©.

In the second half, Twain narrates his trip many years later on a steamboat from St. Louis to New Orleans, shortly followed by a steamboat journey from New Orleans to St Paul (with a stop at his boyhood home town of Hannibal, MO). He describes the competition from railroads, and the new, large cities, and adds his observations on greed, gullibility, tragedy, and bad architecture. He also tells some stories that are most likely tall tales.

It is a very exciting book. Listen to Audio version of this book here πŸ‘‡

Which is Better?

All of you know there are two situations in our life, Happiness and sadness. Now, we feel good when happiness comes but feel bad when it goes. In the same way, we feel bad when sadness comes but feel good when it goes. So, we can say that we feel good and bad in both the situations, although in a different way. So now my question is- Which one is Better? Happiness or Sadness?

Let me clear this- No one is better.

Sad person and Happy person

All these are just situations of life. No situation is better and no situation is worse. We just make them better and worse as per our understanding. We should just live and we should respect every situation because every situation teaches us some lesson.

Now, some of you will ask that we enjoy being in state of happiness but not in the state of sadness. So, according to this logic, happiness is better than sadness. The answer is to analyse why are you able to enjoy the state of happiness? How do you know that you are in the state of happiness? Because you have experienced sadness and you know how miserable it is to be in that state. So, the state of sadness acts as a catalyst to help you fully enjoy your state of happiness. If there was no sadness, you would never know what happiness is. We know about one only because we know about the other. Both of these are complimentary to each other.

I also discussed this thing in my previous post Comparison.

Will appreciate your views on the topic

The key is to Start

Most people don’t do anything new because they don’t want to be seen at the bottom. Don’t be most people. You just can not jump directly on the top of the ladder from the ground. You have to start from the bottom and this is what most people fail to understand.

You know starting is the key to success. You can think for a whole year about doing something and achieving great success but none of that is going to happen until you START taking actions. Acting for an hour is better than just thinking and doing nothing for 10 hours.

Everyone wants to be great, everyone wants to be the best. But they don’t understand that no one is great or best right from the start. It takes continuous action, hard work, sweat and commitment to give your best every single day. You have to start in order to become great and you have to start every single day to become better than the previous day. This is the only key, if you don’t start, no matter how great your idea is, how solid your planning is, you are never going to get great.

So, START and START RIGHT NOW

Get up….Go on

There are many times in our life when we want to do something, something which we have not done before, something which will force us to push our limits, something which we know is going to take a lot of effort and sacrifice. But, still we gather up the courage and start the task. We start achieving progress and we are very happy with this. We have a hope that we can make it.

But then suddenly, your progress stops, no matter how much you try, you just remain on the same level. You try hard and hard every single day but all in vain, no progress. That’s when you say to yourself, may be i can’t do this. That is the time where we are only one step away from quitting and many quits too. But, whenever we are faced with a situation like this, instead of quitting, we should say:-

You need to believe in yourself. You need to believe that your best is yet to come. You need to believe that your time is coming. You need to say yourself everyday that this is not it, there is still a lot to go. When your progress stops, you shall say to yourself that no matter how bad my time becomes, i will never quit. I am stronger than any situation, better than me previous version, and tomorrow i will be a better version that today. Because remember, you can never become best when you are competing with yourself, you can only become a better version of yourself. The day you think that you are the best version of yourself is the day your progress stops.

So, work hard and become the better version of yourself every single day.
